The framing walk-through—also known as the pre-drywall orientation—is one of the most crucial milestones during the construction of your new home. It is the moment when the physical skeleton of your house is complete, and you can see how room dimensions, electrical wiring, and plumbing all align with your blueprint.

1. Verify Electrical & Lighting Outlet Placements

Walk through each room with your floor plan in hand. Check that light switches are on the intuitive side of doorways, electrical outlets are positioned where your furniture will sit, and cable or internet jack drops match your media layouts.

2. Inspect Plumbing & Appliance Locations

Confirm that kitchen sink plumbing, refrigerator water lines, and bathroom shower valves line up accurately with your chosen fixtures and cabinetry specifications.

"Taking detailed photos of the exposed framing before drywall goes up gives you a permanent map of where studs, pipes, and wiring are located inside your walls."

3. Check Structural Details & Custom Options

Look for structural features you requested during the design phase—such as blocking for wall-mounted TVs, drop-down ceiling details, or enlarged window openings. Addressing any adjustments at this stage ensures a smooth, seamless finish when drywall installation begins.
